Meta Q3 2026 revenue rose 26% year over year to $64.60 billion, with advertising accounting for $63.06 billion of the total.

  • Total revenue: $64.60 billion, up 26%
  • Advertising revenue: $63.06 billion, up 26%
  • Ad impressions: up 10%; average price per ad: up 14%
  • Operating income: $12.99 billion, down 37% after a $9.89 billion legal charge

What The Meta Q3 2026 Revenue Line Rests On

Two things, in the company's own account: more advertising shown, and each piece of it sold for more. Impressions across the Family of Apps rose 10%, which Meta attributed to higher engagement, user growth and ad-load optimisations. The average price per ad rose 14%, which the company put down to better advertising performance and improved macroeconomic conditions against the same quarter last year.

Other revenue from the Family of Apps reached $1.10 billion, up 59%, driven mainly by paid messaging on WhatsApp and by subscriptions.

Where The Engagement Came From

Instagram's global time spent per user reached an all-time high and grew by double digits, with gains across Reels and Feed. On Facebook, time spent on Reels also reached all-time highs globally and in the United States. Threads recorded more than 20% growth in time spent per user.

Meta credited changes to its recommendation systems, including an upgraded model architecture on Instagram Reels that ranks sequences of Reels rather than evaluating them individually, which the company said lifted time spent by more than 4%. The family of apps averaged 3.64 billion daily active people in September 2026.

The Numbers Advertisers Will Read First

Changes to the generative retrieval system for Facebook Feed increased conversions by nearly 2% across targeted segments. Extending the GEM ad-ranking model to more surfaces increased conversions by 1.7% for offsite conversion campaigns and 9.6% for app advertising conversions. Nearly 10 million advertisers used at least one generative AI creative tool during the quarter, and adoption of video-generation features rose 25% quarter on quarter.

Partnership Ads, which lets advertisers run ads featuring creators and other businesses, grew more than 97% year over year and passed $15 billion in annual revenue run rate.

What It Cost

Total costs and expenses rose 68% to $51.61 billion, including the legal charge, with higher infrastructure, cloud, depreciation and data centre costs. Capital expenditure reached $34.91 billion in the quarter and free cash flow was negative $2.12 billion. For the full year, capital expenditure is expected between $135 billion and $145 billion, and Reality Labs is expected to lose $18 billion to $19 billion.
