L'Oréal has appointed Marc Dicko as chief digital and marketing officer for SAPMENA, its South Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa region. The remit covers digital, eCommerce and marketing across more than 35 markets.

  • Role: chief digital and marketing officer, L'Oréal SAPMENA
  • Effective: 1 September 2026, based in Singapore
  • Reports to: Vismay Sharma, president of L'Oréal SAPMENA
  • Tenure: 15 years with L'Oréal, across the Global Division, North Asia, Canada and SAPMENA
  • Previously: chief digital and marketing officer for L'Oréal Canada

For Marc Dicko, The Region Is The Job

SAPMENA is one of the more awkward regional constructs in consumer goods, because more than 35 markets stretching from Australia to Morocco share very little in the way of retail structure, media habit or price sensitivity. A single digital and marketing agenda across that is a coordination problem before it is a creative one.

Dicko's route through the company suits that. Fifteen years across the Global Division, North Asia, Canada and SAPMENA is unusual breadth, and the value of it is knowing which decisions genuinely need to be made centrally and which do not survive the journey.

What He Did In Canada

His most recent post was the same role for L'Oréal Canada, where the work centred on strengthening the direct-to-consumer business, accelerating indirect eCommerce and integrating artificial intelligence into operations and consumer experience.

That last item is the reason the appointment reads as strategic rather than administrative. L'Oréal has put digital capability, eCommerce and AI at the centre of its growth story, and SAPMENA mixes established and emerging beauty markets in a way that will test whether those capabilities travel.
