Lenskart has introduced Lenskart Shunya, an eyewear collection drawn from Indian music, and paired it with five evenings of live performance streaming inside its own app.

  • Collection: Shunya, part of Indian Accents, Lenskart's family of culture-led collections
  • Range: 37 styles across eyeglasses and sunglasses
  • Design cues: the sitar, the flute and the lotus
  • Also introduced: Indus, a collection drawn from metal craftsmanship
  • Companion series: Lenskart Live: Sounds of Shunya, 10 artists over five evenings, streaming in the Lenskart app from 8 to 12 October between 7pm and 8pm

What Lenskart Shunya Takes From The Music

Shunya means zero, and the collection uses it to mean the meditative space from which sound emerges. In practice that becomes detailing: heritage-inspired elements worked into modern silhouettes, including motifs taken from the sitar, the flute and the lotus.

The sargam runs along the temple of the frame.

The engraving running down the temple is the clearest expression of it, and the most literal. It is also the part that survives being photographed, which matters for a collection whose argument is cultural rather than optical.

The Concert Is The Real Launch

Lenskart Live is a new format, and Sounds of Shunya is its first outing. The line-up moves across contemporary bhajans, classical and Carnatic traditions and modern interpretations of them.

Backstage Siblings, Prachi and Raghav Agarwal, open it with what they call bhajan jamming; Lenskart says the duo has performed more than 300 shows across over 50 cities since starting in 2024. The vocal line-up includes Arunita Kanjilal, Iham Kavyam Experience by Kavya Ajit, Anushka Gouttam and Vishwajeet Borwankar. Mahesh Raghvan and Shravan Sridhar bring Carnatic music into electronic production and electric violin, and the instrumental roster has Nandini Shankar on violin, Swayam on sitar, Varsh Jain on flute and Ved Prajapati on tabla.

Why Stream It Inside The App

Putting five nights of music behind the shopping app rather than on an open platform is the decision worth watching. It trades reach for session time, and it only works if the programming is good enough to open an eyewear app for.

The collection is available across Lenskart stores and on the app, arriving ahead of the festive season. More brand news.
