JioHotstar And The Peacock Hub Partner For Koffee With Karan's Final Season

JioHotstar has announced a collaboration with The Peacock Hub for the ninth and final season of Koffee With Karan, the first time NBCUniversal has backed an Indian show on the platform.
- Show: Koffee With Karan, ninth and final season, premiered 14 October 2026
- Partners: JioHotstar and The Peacock Hub
- First: NBCUniversal and JioHotstar supporting a homegrown Indian show together
- Hub launched: 2023, with JioCinema as it then was
What Changes For The Peacock Hub
Its function. Until now the hub's presence in India has been built on distribution and acquisition: a destination where Peacock Originals such as All Her Fault, PONIES, The Copenhagen Test and The Five Star Weekend sit alongside titles from Universal Studio Group, DreamWorks Animation, Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Sky and Bravo.
Supporting a locally produced original is a different commitment. It moves the hub from being a shelf for global content to being a participant in Indian programming, which is the harder and more expensive side of the business.
Why This Show, And Why Now
Because it is ending. A final season is the one point in a long-running format's life when attention is guaranteed and the downside is limited: there is no renewal to justify and no second season to live up to.
Alok Jain, Head of Hindi and English Entertainment Business for streaming, TV and studios at JioStar, called it a significant moment in how the future of Indian intellectual property is seen, which is a larger claim than one collaboration supports but an accurate description of the direction.
What To Watch Next
Whether it repeats. A single partnership on a marquee final season can be a marketing arrangement; a second one, on a show that has to earn its audience from scratch, would make it a strategy.
For the Indian market the interesting variable is what a global studio's involvement changes about a local commission, in budget, in format ambition, or in where the finished show can travel afterwards. None of those is answered yet.
