Dinesh Singh Named Chief Technology And Information Officer At NDTV Group

Dinesh Singh has been named chief technology and information officer of NDTV Group, a role taken up in August 2026 after sixteen years as the group's chief technology officer.
- Company: NDTV Group
- Role: chief technology and information officer
- At the network since: February 1999
- Previously: chief technology officer, from May 2010
What Dinesh Singh Has Been Running
More than a technology stack. The chief technology officer years covered television network operations, corporate IT, IT broadcast technology, satellite communication systems and the complete digital OTT ecosystem, alongside designing and managing end-to-end broadcast facilities and OTT workflows.
The brief also carried profit and loss responsibility, business operations forecasting, long-range planning and budgeting. That combination, the control room and the balance sheet in one job, is unusual in Indian media and is the reason the new title adds information to technology.
The Record Behind It
Eleven years in broadcast operations and engineering came first, from February 1999 to May 2010. Before NDTV, at Cinecita Compotronics, came India's first digital studio project, nine robotics-based cameras in each house of Parliament delivered in eight months, along with work at Ramoji Rao Film City and a national open university project in Bangladesh.
Two recognitions mark the pattern. In 2004 the CBA cited cost-effective engineering after MPEG-4 was adopted for a DSNG van to save satellite bandwidth, and in 2008 NAB recognised a studio on wheels built for election coverage. Thrift and invention arriving together is the throughline.
What The New Title Signals
Singh's stated philosophy is not AI everywhere but AI in every workflow, which is a narrower and more demanding claim than the industry usually makes.
For a newsroom the distinction matters commercially. Embedding the technology inside production, distribution and operations is measured in output rather than announcements, and it is the kind of programme that needs someone who already owns the systems and the budget.
