An Unusual Board Signing For Capital Small Finance Bank
Because the specialism is capital markets communication, not lending. Investor relations and treasury sit on the funding side of a bank, and for an institution of this size the binding constraint is usually access to capital rather than demand for credit.
The HDFC merger experience is the other half. Few people in Indian banking have worked through an integration of that scale from the inside, and that knowledge is as useful for avoiding one as for executing it.
What It Signals About Capital SFB
Board-building ahead of scale. Independent directors with this profile are usually recruited when an institution expects to spend more time in front of investors and regulators than it has previously, which tends to precede a change in licence, structure or funding mix rather than follow it.
What The Bank Said
Capital Small Finance Bank said D’Souza will contribute to its governance and strategic oversight, drawing on experience in banking and financial services to support the bank's continued growth and long-term objectives.
