Christopher Paul has joined WPP Media as Senior Vice President, Client Services, leading the agency's Tamil Nadu business from September 2026.

  • Role: Senior Vice President, Client Services, WPP Media
  • Market: Tamil Nadu
  • Remit: client relationships, business growth and strategic direction across automotive, FMCG, technology and services
  • Previously: more than ten years at Motivator, GroupM Media India, most recently as general manager
  • Earlier: OMD India as general manager and business director, with a start at Starcom MediaVest Group India and Madison Communications India

What Christopher Paul Is Being Asked To Hold Together

The four sectors named in the brief buy media for different reasons. Automotive runs on a long consideration cycle and a dealer network. Fast-moving consumer goods runs on reach and repetition. Technology runs on launches. Services runs on local proof.

Holding all four inside one regional P&L is less about media planning than about staffing, because the people who are good at one of those rarely want to work on another.

Why Regional Leadership Is Being Named At All

Media agency structures in India have historically been national, with regional offices as delivery arms. Naming a senior leader to a single state is a bet that the client base there is large enough and distinct enough to need its own strategic direction rather than a branch of Mumbai's.

Chennai supports that reading. It has a dense automotive manufacturing base, a large technology services sector, and a set of advertisers whose media habits are genuinely different from the national pattern.

The Move Itself

Announcing the move, Christopher Paul said simply that a new position as Senior Vice President, Client Services at WPP Media was starting. More people moves.
