Apple Becomes The First Brand In The Creative Hall Of Fame

Apple has become the first brand inducted into The One Club for Creativity’s Brand Hall of Fame, recognising more than 50 years of work across design, branding and communications.
- Part of the Creative Hall of Fame, established in 1961 for lifetime achievement in creativity
- Previous inductees include Walt Disney, Andy Warhol, Annie Leibovitz, Gordon Parks, Saul Bass, Paul Rand and George Lois
- First time a brand, rather than an individual, has been inducted
- Veteran Indian creative Piyush Pandey is among this year’s Creative Hall of Fame inductees
- Formal ceremony on 16 September 2026 at Capitale New York
The Work Behind The Creative Hall Of Fame Entry
Apple’s reputation was built through in-house work and long relationships with Chiat/Day and TBWA\Media Arts Lab, from the “1984” Super Bowl commercial through “Think Different”, the iPod Silhouettes and 24 “Get a Mac” executions.
More recent work includes “Shot on iPhone”, now in its eleventh year, and “Privacy, that’s iPhone”, in its eighth, plus the Emmy-winning holiday films “Misunderstood” and “Fuzzy Feelings” and accessibility work including “I Am the Greatest” and “I’m Not Remarkable”.
Why Admitting A Brand Is A Departure
The One Club created the Brand Hall of Fame to recognise brands that made creativity fundamental to their identity. Every two years it will review more than a century of One Show and ADC Annual Awards winners to build a shortlist, voted on by its national and international boards.
Chief executive Kevin Swanepoel said Apple has set an extraordinary standard for design, innovation and creative communication for more than 50 years, making it a natural first inductee.
There is a real argument buried in the format change. Halls of fame honour people because people make the work, and a brand is a client rather than an author. What the new category concedes is that sustained creative standards over decades are a function of how a company commissions and approves, which is its own discipline and not the agency’s.
The Indian Entry
Piyush Pandey joins this year’s Creative Hall of Fame alongside Rosie Arnold, Janet Champ, John C Jay, Caroline R. Jones and Joyce King Thomas. Michael Conrad enters the Educators Hall of Fame.
Apple co-founder Steve Jobs was inducted in 2012, and Apple with TBWA\Media Arts Lab has twice won The One Show’s Penta Pencil, in 2017 and 2026. For Indian advertising, Pandey’s induction into a list running back to Warhol and Disney is the more significant of the two announcements.
