Why Aditya Sunilkumar Is The Kind Of Hire Meta Keeps Making
Because the platform needs people who can make the advertising, not just sell the inventory. In-house creative at a technology company is largely about showing advertisers what the surface can do, which requires someone who has shipped work on it under a client's pressure rather than studied it.
A digital head's remit at a network agency is the closest training there is. It means arguing for formats, budgets and timelines against a traditional-first system, which is the same argument Meta's own creative teams make to the market.
What The Hamburg Years Add
Craft built outside the Indian system. Four years at a German agency as a copywriter is a different apprenticeship from the one most Indian creative directors have, and it tends to show in restraint rather than in scale.
What It Says About The Agency Side
That the drain continues upward. Executive creative director is a senior post, and when those move to platforms rather than to rival agencies, the loss to the network is not a person but a layer, and the layer is the one that was about to run a creative department.
