The Nike Mumbai Indians partnership names Nike the official kit partner of both the franchise's women's and men's teams, beginning with the 2027 season.

  • Brands: Nike and Mumbai Indians
  • Scope: Women's and men's teams, including coaches and technical staff
  • Categories: Matchplay, training and sportswear
  • Starts: 2027 season, with team gear worn from this month

What The Nike Mumbai Indians Deal Covers

Both teams, not one. Nike will outfit the women's and men's sides along with coaches and technical staff, across matchplay, training and sportswear, and the company frames it as bringing its apparel to the players and to the supporters who wear the club's blue and gold.

The timing is staged. Athletes and staff start wearing Nike team gear this month, with the kits themselves revealed ahead of the coming seasons, and replica and city-inspired styles to follow.

Why It Matters Beyond The Shirt

A kit deal is the most-seen piece of sponsorship in cricket, because it is on screen for every ball of every match and on the backs of supporters for the rest of the year. Naming one supplier across both the women's and men's teams also sets the women's side at the same commercial level as the men's, which is still not the default in Indian franchise sport.

For Nike, the company described the partnership as a significant step in continued investment in cricket. Tarundeep Singh, general manager of Nike India, said: "Cricket is woven into the heartbeat of India, and few teams capture its energy like Mumbai Indians."

What Each Side Said

Devang Bhimjyani, head of Reliance Sports, put it in terms of the club's own identity, saying the team has always been about more than cricket and pointing to an opportunity to connect cricket and culture and to inspire the next generation.

Tilak Varma, a Nike athlete and a member of the men's team, described the overlap as personal: "Mumbai Indians backed me and gave me the opportunity to express myself on the big stage. Nike has been part of my journey too, so bringing these two families together feels personal."
