ITC Foods Launches B Natural Coconut Cola

ITC Foods has introduced B Natural Coconut Cola, a drink that blends the fizz and flavour of cola with the hydration of coconut water. Positioned under the proposition "Refreshingly Simple," the beverage combines coconut water with a carbonated cola base while offering zero caffeine, zero added sugar and just 9 kcal per serve.

  • Brand: B Natural (ITC Foods)
  • New product: Coconut Cola
  • Positioning: "Refreshingly Simple": zero caffeine, zero added sugar, 9 kcal per serve
  • Rollout: quick commerce platforms first, as a pilot ahead of a broader national launch
  • Price: Rs 60 for a 250ml can

A Wellness Angle Into a Category Cola Has Long Avoided

Cola has historically been positioned as an indulgence category, making a zero-caffeine, zero-added-sugar entrant a deliberate bet that a meaningful segment of Indian consumers want the familiar cola experience without its usual health trade-offs. Anchoring the product in coconut water, an ingredient already carrying strong natural-hydration associations in India, gives ITC a functional health story to tell that pure sugar-free reformulation alone wouldn't provide.

Testing Before Committing to National Shelf Space

Launching first on quick commerce rather than general trade lets ITC gauge real purchase behaviour and repeat-rate data before committing to the manufacturing scale and retail distribution costs of a national rollout, a increasingly common playbook for large FMCG players entering categories where consumer response to a genuinely new format is hard to predict from research alone. The move places ITC in direct competition with Coca-Cola, PepsiCo and Reliance Consumer Products' Campa brand, all of which have leaned on scale and legacy distribution rather than functional-health positioning as their primary edge.
