Ogilvy has promoted Sujoy Roy and Nitin Srivastava to the roles of Chief Creative Officers for its Gurugram office.
This transition follows the departure of Ritu Sharda, who had been serving as Chief Creative Officer for Ogilvy North. Sharda, who joined the agency in April 2019, previously held the position of Senior Executive Director at BBDO India.
A true Ogilvy veteran, Roy has been with the agency for two decades, having joined straight after university. Over the years, he has worked across Ogilvy’s Mumbai, Kolkata, and Colombo offices, consistently demonstrating creative brilliance. While his official title has always been ‘Copywriter,’ Roy’s expertise extends far beyond words. With a diploma in fine arts, he has seamlessly navigated both art and copy disciplines. Seven years ago, he leveraged this dual skill set to establish the Ogilvy Design Cell, which he continues to lead across the agency’s India operations.
Roy has also played a pivotal role in expanding Ogilvy East, crafting deeply resonant campaigns in his mother tongue—Bengali—and proving that impactful advertising transcends linguistic and regional boundaries.
A graduate of Delhi College of Art and Central Saint Martins in London, Srivastava’s career spans over 25 years. Currently serving as Senior Executive Creative Director and Creative Head (Luxury and Beauty) at Ogilvy North, he has worked across multiple industries, shaping renowned brands such as Coca-Cola, Absolut, Chivas, Jameson, MINI, The Park Hotels, Incredible India, and WWF. Over the past two decades, he has played a significant role in defining brand identities within the alcoholic beverage sector, particularly for Pernod Ricard.
Ogilvy India’s Chief Creative Officers, Kainaz Karmakar, Harshad Rajadhyaksha, and Sukesh Nayak, expressed their enthusiasm about the promotions, stating,
"Sujoy and Nitin are Ogilvy stalwarts. Over the years, both have created an outstanding portfolio of work that has driven business growth and enhanced brand reputation. Their benchmark-setting work across mediums has created impact and earned numerous accolades locally and globally. More importantly, it has won the admiration of both consumers and clients. We are delighted to see our people step up into senior leadership roles. We believe they, alongside their teams, will push the creative boundaries even further. Their shared passion for design and ideas will shape a new chapter for Ogilvy Gurugram.”
With their extensive expertise and creative vision, Roy and Srivastava are set to lead Ogilvy Gurugram towards new heights of innovation and success.
