Independent creative agency Fundamental has appointed Ambalika Sen as its new Managing Partner, marking a pivotal moment in the agency’s growth journey. Sen makes this move after an impactful four-year stint at Tilt Brand Solutions, where she played a key role in building the agency’s brand narrative.

Welcoming her to the leadership team, Pallavi Chakravarti, Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer, Fundamental, shared,

“When we started out two years ago, we dreamed of attracting builders. Some of us have known Ambalika for a very long time and observed her evolution as an advertising professional with joy and pride. Now that our paths are converging again, turns out dreams do come true.”

She further noted that Fundamental, although small in size, has grown in ambition.

“Our team is still as passionate as the day we began, but our goals are bigger now. Ambalika’s unpretentious leadership and holistic business understanding will help us grow meaningfully, not just numerically.”

Unlike traditional agencies that often scale rapidly for optics, Fundamental has stayed true to its vision of selectively growing its talent pool. In line with this philosophy, Sen’s appointment represents a strategic alignment between leadership vision and business ambition.

Reflecting on her new role, Ambalika Sen commented,

“Over the years at Taproot and Tilt, I’ve trained to grow reputable ad firms with the best in the business. Now, I’m taking my shot at co-building what feels like a calling. With over a decade-long professional and personal kinship with the founding team, joining Fundamental felt inevitable. There’s much to be done, and I’m excited to rage through this party, one actionable at a time!”

Throughout her career, Sen has contributed to organisations such as JWT, Homegrown, Taproot Dentsu, Contract Advertising, and Pi Communications, and has also served as a faculty member at the Xavier Institute of Communications.
